‘Fast & Furious 7′: Production ‘Shut Down’ Due To Paul Walker’s Death

While the cast and crew mourn the loss of Paul Walker, production of ‘Fast & Furious 7′ has shut down, Universal Studios said in a statement Dec. 4.

After the tragic death of Paul Walker on Nov. 30, the co-stars of The Fast and the Furious series are heartbroken and leaning on each other during this tough time. Tyrese Gibson, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez have all gathered together to remember their friend, and in the meantime they will not continue filming.

‘Fast & Furious 7′ Shut Down

Universal Pictures released the following statement:

Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.

While they are halting filming for now, the studio has promised to keep fans in the loop with what the plans are for the film in the future.

We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.

Fast & Furious 7 was originally set to be released in July 2014, although that is unlikely now because of the production delay.
