The sudden death of the 22-year-old rapper is sad enough, but examining his final actions on Twitter on Dec. 27 just further highlights the tragic fact that his career was only beginning to take off.
Doe B, a 22-year-old rapper who was shot and killed in Montgomery, Ala. on Dec. 27, was only just beginning to taste success — and nothing highlights that sad truth more than his last tweet before being gunned down.
Doe B’s Tragic Final Tweet
Things were going so well for Doe B, and he was feeling it. And on the same night he was shot and killed, he re-tweeted a very confident, very celebratory message:
Don’t ask me how I’m doing bitch I’m GREAT @CBMDOEB

The self-assured tone of Doe’s re-tweet really lets you get sense of his state of mind, and you can feel how bright his future was.
After being signed to Interscope Records in the summer of 2013 and joining T.I.‘s Hustle Gang, Doe B had a lot to look forward to in 2014. He had already made noise as an up-and-coming rapper this year, and with his debut album expected to drop in early 2014, the rapper was only just getting started.
Doe B Will Not Be Forgotten
Which makes his tragic death so hard to handle. But in a statement given to HollywoodLife.com, Doe’s management team Blueprint Group said that Doe B’s fans can’t focus on his death, but instead need to remember him through his music:
Doe B was an amazing young man, in every sense of the word. A truly talented artist, a loving father and a dedicated member of the hip hop community at large, he touched the lives of the many people who had the privilege of knowing him. The Blueprint Group offers our condolences to our Doe B label partners Interscope / Hustle Gang, his management DJ Frank White and Brooklyn Knights, and most of all his family, friends and fans at this very difficult time. We ask that you remember him not by his untimely death, but by his love of life and the music he left behind.
That’s the best we can do right now. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Doe B’s friends and family during this difficult time.
