Alright Beliebers, good news — Justin did not ruin Christmas after all. When he tweeted out that he was officially retiring on Dec. 24, we were wondering if it was just to promote his new film. HollywoodLife.com can tell you that that’s exactly what he was doing!
Justin Beiber knows a thing or two about how to get the world’s attention — and he did just that! After he tweeted out that he was “officially retiring,” HollywoodLife.com spoke to a source in his camp who confirmed that it wasn’t completely as it seemed.
Justin Bieber Retiring — The Truth
“The retiring tweet was 110% to do with his film release. It is Christmas, and his movie comes out today and everyone is talking about him. Perfect marketing,” a source close to the “Bad Day” singer told HollywoodLife.com exclusively on Dec. 25.
Believe hit theaters Dec. 25, and as we saw on Twitter, the fans absolutely loved it. However, they weren’t happy when he announced his retirement.
But not to worry, Beliebers. His team told us that a retirement from Justin is not going to happen.
“It is all for show,” a source in Justinâs camp confirmed. “He is going to take some time off, but retiring is an impossibility.”
Plus, we could kind of tell — he spent all day on Christmas tweeting about the movie!
Justin Bieber Needs A Break
We’ve gotta say, this is a good idea for Justin. After tweeting he was retiring, he admitted that he’s been “in the media” a lot this year for some, shall we say, not-so-positive actions.
Justin was recorded urinating in a mop bucket, attacking a paparazzi and partying at a brothel — it hasn’t completely been the best positive press year for him.
So, at 19, why not take a break? Even his manager thinks it’s a good idea!
“Iâm telling him after this movie, I want him to take next year off and just take a break,” Scooter Braun said in an interview with Ryan Seacrest Dec. 18. “He can still live in the studio and work on the next album, which is what he wants to do, but I just want him to take some time to himself, so he can have that time alone cause heâs been working since he was 12 years old.”
We agree! What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you mad that Justin would say he’s retiring to promote his movie? Or was it a smart movie? Let us know!
