Alex & Sierra: ‘X Factor’ Winners Plan To Do 1st Album ‘Quick’ & ‘Right’

Alex & Sierra captured the hearts of ‘X Factor’ fans back in week one, so it’s safe to say that not too many people were surprised when they received their victory confetti (and recording contract!) on the Dec. 19 finale. HollywoodLife.com caught up with the happy couple after the show, where they revealed their plans to release their first album â€" fast!

Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton â€" or Alex & Sierra, as we know and love them â€" are certainly wasting no time! The show had barely ended when the newly crowned X Factor champs told HollywoodLife.com that they’ve already made plans to release their first album. Find out what the couple had to say below.

Alex & Sierra Reveal Plans For New Album

In case anyone was worried that Alex & Sierra would disappear into the generic pop music machine, don’t fret â€" the duo told HollywoodLife.com that they plan to release their first album quickly, and that they’ll be heavily involved in the writing and production process.

“[We're going] home for Christmas and then coming back out to do our album,” Sierra said backstage.

“Yeah, we’re going to come [to Los Angeles] for as long as the album takes,” Alex continued. “We’re going to make sure that we do it right and do it quick and get it out so people don’t get cold with us.”

Given the way people voted week after week, we doubt they will. “But quality first over the speed!” Sierra added. “We just don’t ever want to do a song that we’re not happy with or we weren’t a part of, so we’re excited to do that.”

We wouldn’t expect anything less! Alex also said that they plan to be very hands-on when it comes to producing the album â€" which, apparently, Simon is very okay with!

“As far as we’re concerned, we’re going to be co-writers on every single song that we put out,” Alex said. “Even if it’s very miniscule… we just want to make sure that our stamp of approval is on everything. Because that’s what we’ve done in the competition and it’s been successful for us.”

And as for how they’re dealing with their newfound fame, Alex seems to be on cloud nine!

“For like six years, I’ve just never had an album to come out with,” he told HollywoodLife.com. “I’ve never had the resources or anything. People would be saying, ‘Hey dude you’re playing gigs, are you going to have an album?’ [And I would respond] ‘Dude, I’m going to get it out as quick as possible.’ Now I can actually say that, and it’ll happen!”

Alex & Sierra: Why He Didn’t Propose

We’re so happy for them â€" even if there’s still no ring on Sierra’s finger. HollywoodLife.com also caught up with the couple before the finale, where they assured us that marriage plans came second to winning.

“We’re on the same page with that, so I knew he wasn’t [going to propose],” Sierra told us. “But I was just freaking out because I was like, ‘What are you going to say to me right now?’”

That said, Alex is still feeling the heat!

“We kind of went into [the competition] thinking that people were going to want [a proposal],” he explained. “We went into the first audition with people [saying], ‘If you guys make it to the finale, you gotta propose.’ That’s what I read on Twitter, but that was never part of our game plan. That would also look like we’re trying to get votes.”
