Christopher Evan Welch Dead: ‘Rubicon’ Actor Passes Away At 48

So sad! Christopher, a character actor best known as Grant Test in the show ‘Rubicon’ died of lung cancer on Dec. 2. He was 48 years old.

Christopher Evan Welch, the well-known Hollywood character actor who won over legions of fans in his television and film roles, passed away in Santa Monica, Calif. on Dec 2.

Christopher’s family announced the sad news on Dec. 11 in a statement, nine days after his Dec. 2 death in Santa Monica. He died in the hospital of lung cancer complications.

The actor, who was born in Dallas, won an Obie Award in 2000 for his New York Theatre Workshop of ”A Streetcar Named Desire.”

Christopher is survived by his wife Emma Roberts Welch, their three-year-old daughter June Harper; his mother, Katherine Welch Burke; his father, William; his brother, Derek; and his sister, McKenna Marx.

Christopher Evan Welch: Had Roles In TV, Film & Theater

Christopher was also a talented theater actor, and was in London Assurance on Broadway in 1997.

His television roles include The Sopranos, The Good Wife, and The Practice, and is best known for his recurring role on the spy drama Rubicon as Grant Test. His film roles include The Stepford Wives, The Interpreter, The Good Shepherd, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (as the narrator).
