After breaking up with her much-older husband Doug Hutchison in early November, Courtney Stodden needed a change. So did she start wearing conservative dresses? No, don’t be ridiculous! To mark the new era of being single, the 19-year-old star instead opted for a dye job, swapping out her platinum blonde look for a deep dark brown do.
Courtney Stodden Debuts Brunette Hair
Courtney was out flaunting the new hair color on Dec. 12. In one of her signature, cleavage-baring dresses at the Wowie Awards in Universal City, Calif., Courtney strutted down the carpet, whipping her hair back and forth a la Willow Smith to make sure no one missed the big changeup.
We have to admit the beauty switch does make Courtney look like a brand new person. Her exhibitionist personality hasn’t changed, but now it comes with a hint of sophistication. At the very least, she’s gone from Baby Spice to Posh Spice with the dye job.
Courtney Stodden On Her New Hair: ‘It Was A Huge Risk’
“I feel born again,” Courtney told Us Weekly about her new hair. “I’m excited to go out and see the life of a brunette.”
After ending her two-year relationship with Doug, Courtney said she’s ready to embark on new life experiences and adventures — the change in hair color is just the beginning. “Lately I’ve been a bit of a daredevil, and I’m trying to enter into the next chapter of my life,” she explained. “I thought this was kind of a good example to prove to myself that I can do it. It was a huge risk, but I’m glad I did it.”
