Khloe is reportedly set to finally file for divorce from Lamar on Dec. 13, and even though the couple has an ‘iron-clad’ prenuptial agreement, a divorce attorney tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that there are ways Khloe could make her soon-to-be ex-husband pay, if she wants to.
When Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom married in 2009, they made the smart decision as celebrities to sign a prenuptial agreement to keep all of their assets separate. But now on the heels of divorce — a split arguably caused by Lamar’s alleged drug addiction and the numerous reports of his infidelity — Khloe may feel that she deserves a piece of Lamar’s fortune. And she could be able to get it, a divorce attorney tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom: Will They Fight Their Prenup?
Khloe and Lamar have an iron-clad prenup, according to TMZ, but no prenup is without a few stipulations.
Vikki Ziegler, a celebrity divorce attorney, tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that even if a prenup is clearly defined, either party can drag out the divorce by arguing that the agreement is “unfair or unconscionable.” Under the current contract, Khloe and Lamar’s assets — Khloe is reportedly worth $ 11 million while Lamar’s estimated net worth is $ 56 million — are completely separated. Either Khloe or Lamar could go after a chunk of the other’s fortune, Vikki indicates, though without all the information available, it’s difficult to estimate the chances of overturning the original prenup.
Though if Khloe does pack on legal fees, she “may want temporary support to pay marital bills until the divorce is final,” Vikki says.
Khloe Kardashian’s Infidelity Clause Against Lamar Odom?
And there is something else — Lamar’s cheating allegations. In that iron-clad prenup, Khloe reportedly had an “infidelity clause” written in, according to Life & Style, which would force Lamar to give Khloe a piece of his fortune if it was determined he cheated.
In July, a source close to Lamar told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Hell no, he didn’t cheat on Khloe,” but with millions of dollars possibly at stake, that strong statement may be tested in court.
