Lamar Odom — you’ve been an absentee father, especially in the past nine months, but it’s completely unfair to spread the word that it’s all Khloe’s fault!
Lamar Odom, your daughter Destiny, 15, told the world last week on her Last.fm page that she’s thrilled that she has you “all to myself”,  now that Khloe Kardashian‘s filed for divorce. Clearly, she’s been missing having you in her life as well as in the life of her younger brother, Lamar Jr.

And that must be hurtful to Khloe, who always encouraged you to see your kids. But what must be even more hurtful is that you are apparently blaming Khloe for your complete lack of involvement with your kids, for many months.
“Lamar blames her for monopolizing his time,” a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He put a lot of energy into that relationship and that Kardashian lifestyle and he lost track of his relationships with his family, especially his father Joe, and his kids. He was so much more focused on Khloe and trying to start a family with her that he wasn’t spending a lot of time with his own kids.”
Well, Lamar, that is sooo unfair!
If you had wanted to put your energy into spending time with your children or father, you could have done it. You are a grown man who is able to make your own decisions, and if you weren’t a good father to your two children with ex-fiancée Liza Morales, then it’s your own fault and only your fault!

Khloe didn’t force you to NOT call Destiny and Lamar Jr. Neither did she force you to NOT visit them or have them visit you.
Lamar, that was your own decision. Or your own inattentiveness. It’s wrong for you to dump the guilt you must carry for being so neglectful, onto Khloe.
Khloe “was the one making sure that [Destiny and Lamar Jr.] saw [their] dad. At the end of the day, she’s the reason he was even part of their lives,” a source close to Khloe told HollywoodLife.com.
Lamar, considering the state you’ve been in for the past many months, it seems much more likely that it was YOU who wasn’t focused on being a dad, period. You weren’t exactly  being a decent husband to Khloe, either!
There’s no way that the “Kardashian lifestyle” truly prevented you from seeing your two teens. No, I’d say that it had to be your own self-involved lifestyle that was responsible for that.
Nonetheless, it’s terrific, Lamar, that you are now admitting to those close to you that you had been an “absent father,” and that you want to be a more hands-on dad.
“He’s been doing that for the last month and I’ve got to tell you he feels good about it,” a source close to Lamar reveals. “He’s trying to be a good father, a role model now that Khloe’s out of the picture. It’s no longer about her all the time.”
Well Lamar, it’s commendable that you’re planning to see Destiny and Lamar Jr. for Christmas and that “he’s doing all he can to be back in their lives,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com.
Better late than never! And Destiny and Lamar Jr. will be so happy to see you and talk with you regularly again.
But Lamar, while you’re on the new and improved Lamar path, you must do two things: #1) stop dissing Khloe for interfering with you being a hands-on dad and #2) don’t disappoint your kids by dropping out of their lives again. Now that you’re focused on being a dad, stay that way, for good!
