As per usual, Mariah Carey sounded amazing in not one, but two performances on NBC’s ‘Christmas at Rockefeller Center.’ Her Christmas album from 1994 is still one of the most listened to around the holidays, and we’re not surprised.
Mariah Carey looked better than ever in two different dresses on Dec. 4 when she hit the stage. Before the tree lighting, she opened the show with “Joy to the World” in a stunning white gown — with white gloves! It was a perfect way to kick off the 81st Annual Tree Lighting. Christmas In Rockefeller Center was filled with amazing performances — and Mariah’s was a favorite of ours!
Mariah Carey’s Performance At ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’
During the star-studded evening, Mariah’s performance — which was pre-taped the night before — was one of the best. The stunning 43-year-old took the stage twice, belting out two songs.
Her first look was very Ice Princess like — a long white, bedazzled gown (also with long white gloves). Mariah’s hair was left down in smooth, luscious curls.
Her second look was very “Mrs. Clause” as she wore a red dress, long black leather gloves, and a white fur shrug! It looked awfully like the cover of that classic Christmas album! Which makes sense, because she sang “All I Want For Christmas Is You!”
She was joined by some of the best voices in the industry to celebrate the annual lighting of the tree in New York City. Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, and Jewel all also performed!

Even Mariah’s husband, Nick Cannon knows that Mariah is the best when it comes to Christmas.
“My wife is the empress of Christmas,” Nick told Chicago Tribune in November. “She is Mrs. Christmas. She puts the M.C. in Merry Christmas.”
He also spilled that while it’s not easy, he always puts thought into the gifts he gives his wife.
“I listen to what she says, like, ‘Oh, I’d love to have this,’” he explained.”She can pretty much go buy whatever she wants. The more thoughtful it is, the better the reaction. I’ll put together a video of the year or a Christmas video and edit stuff together with music in the background. I had one of her favorite artists paint a picture of her. That type of stuff goes over pretty well.”
