Paul Walker: Speed Was The Sole Cause Of Fatal Crash — New Report

Paul Walker: Speed Was The Sole Cause Of Fatal Crash â€" New Report

Investigators looking into Paul Walker’s fiery fatal car crash on Nov. 30 found no evidence that the Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in had any mechanical issues, according to a new report.

A law enforcement official says “speed, and speed alone” was the cause of the crash that killed Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas. Investigators have determined that debris in the roadway did not cause the tragic accident, according to the official.

Paul Walker: ‘Speed Alone’ Is Cause Of Crash — New Report Blames Speeding Car

“We’re looking at speed and speed alone,” an official connected to the investigation tells the Associated Press. The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the case, asked to remain anonymous.

The official tells the AP that Roger appeared to have successfully negotiated a curve in the road before he crashed the car into a light pole and a tree.

“They were well out of the curve when they lost control,” the official says.

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have also determined the speed range at which they believe the car had been traveling but they won’t reveal it until sometime in January, when Porsche engineers come to California to extract information from onboard data collectors.

According to TMZ, however, the AP’s report is false, and the investigation is ongoing. “Multiple law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation tell us, the investigation is ongoing and NO determinations have been made regarding the cause,” the site says.

Paul Walker Death Mystery — Porsche Experts Brought In To Analyze Crash

German Porsche Experts were flown to Los Angeles to assist in the investigation surrounding Paul’s death, TMZ confirmed on Dec. 18. Mechanical experts for the luxury car company are helping local law enforcement with a full analysis of the wrecked Carrera GT, which will include the brakes, engine and body.

The police also want the experts to help determine the speed Roger was driving at the time of impact, and they’re very interested in the tires. According to TMZ’s sources, “at least one is available for analysis because it was not completely destroyed in the fire.”
