Paul Walker’s Sister Grieves Star’s Death — Denies Drag Racing Rumors Around Crash
Eyewitness Jim Torp told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that, despite the rumors, the actor and his friend “were not drag racing” – and Ashlie is standing behind Jim’s statement.
“They were absolutely not racing, that’s a complete lie,” Ashlie told the UK’s Daily Mail on Dec. 2. ”It hurts us when we hear these lies and it makes our grief worse and more painful. These are irresponsible allegations and people are trying to make out speed and racing was the reason for his death when it was just a terrible accident.”
Ashlie spoke out on behalf of her family, as Paul’s father, Paul Walker Sr., Paul’s younger brother, sister-in-law, and uncle reportedly spent the day grieving and turning to their Mormon faith to get through this tragic event.
Roger âLost Control Of The Carâ â" Eyewitness
While Roger and Paul were both race car drivers, Jim said the friends were only driving for five or so minutes before the car crashed, not allowing enough time to race.
âRoger lost control of the car. They didnât spin or anything. They went into a tree. They hit four trees and took a big light pole down. The light pole came down and the car bounced off of it. And then they crashed into a tree, thatâs what eventually stopped the car,â Jim said.
Our thoughts go out to Paul and Roger’s friends and family during this difficult time.
