Selena Gomez shocked her fans down under when she canceled her Australian tour on Dec. 19. A new report blamed her tour troubles on her continued heartbreak over Justin Bieber, but she’s actually backing out to “take care of herself,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Selena, 21, is one hard-working woman! In 2013 alone, she released her hit album Stars Dance, completed a 56-city world tour, and shot four movies.

We totally understand why Sel needs to take a break — even reading about everything she’s accomplished over the past year is exhausting. Selena seemed to take it all in stride, but apparently she took on more work than she could handle.

“She didn’t cancel her tour because of Justin. She’s exhausted, she’s been on tour all year. Plus, she’s been working nonstop doing back to back movies. She’s very, very tired,” a source close to the Stars Dance beauty tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.  ”It wasn’t an easy decision for Selena. She really hates to let anyone down so this wasn’t something she did just out of the blue, but it’s what she needs to do to take care of herself right now.”

We’re sure Selena is sad that she had to back out of her tour but we think she made the right choice by putting her well-being before her work.

Selena Gomez Plans To Lean On Taylor Swift For Support

We’re pretty sure Taylor is the best BFF ever so we’re not surprised that Selena is planning to spend lots of time with her during her break from work.

“Selena has plans to hang out a lot in the coming weeks with close friends like Taylor Swift,” a source close to Selena told RadarOnline. “Taylor has been a really good support system for Selena in recent weeks.”

We’re so glad Selena has Taylor to turn to as she gets some much-needed R&R.
