The ‘X Factor’ judge has the funniest reason ever about why he thinks he’s fully prepared to be a dad. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Simon at the show’s season finale on Dec. 19, and he explained that since his dogs are so well-trained, raising a baby will be a breeze!
Simon Cowell is gearing up to welcome his first child, a son, with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman – and he’s surprisingly calm and prepared. He told HollywoodLife.com that 54 is the best age for him to become a dad — much better than if he was a father in his 20s.
Simon Cowell: I’ll Be A Good Dad Because Raising Dogs Prepared Me For Baby
Simon is sure that he’s more prepared to be a dad now than when he was younger — and he has the funniest reason why.
“Oh god where do I begin? I don’t think I would have been a great dad at the age of twenty. But now, I have [my dogs] Squiddly and Diddly and I’ve trained them,” Simon joked to HollywoodLife.com and reporters at the finale of X Factor.
Before we point out the obvious differences between raising kids and training pups, Simon even laughed that he hasn’t been so great about the dog-training after all! “Actually … They’re not trained at all, actually now that I think about it, they’re the worst behaved dogs in Beverly Hills!” he laughed.
All joking aside, Simon asserted, “I’ll be a good dad and Lauren will be a great mom.” How sweet!
Simon Cowell Raising Baby All Over The World?
Simon also revealed that he hasn’t yet decided which city he wants his son to grow up in — but the Brit travels across the bond and across the states constantly! The parents-to-be are planning to welcome their baby boy in New York City on Feb. 28, 2014.
