Although purple hasn’t had a Pantone moment in a while, we aren’t totally surprised by the pick — after all, we spotted it on both the red carpet and the Spring 2014 runway, with Lady Gaga most recently showing it off on the AMAs red carpet when she wore a Versace ensemble that’s so similar to the one she’s sporting in the brand’s Spring 2014 campaign.

While at first glance the hue screams, “bridesmaid dress,” it actually is having a major moment, with so many designers incorporating it into their spring collections — but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock it in the winter and fall!
