Tiger’s half-brother, Earl Dennison Woods Jr., was arrested on Dec. 13 for making a bomb threat in Phoenix, Ariz. What happened?
Earl Dennison Woods Jr., the half-brother of golfing legend Tiger Woods, was arrested for calling in a bomb threat at the Department of Economic Security government office he works at — but claims that the threat was just a joke!
Tiger Woods Half-Brother Arrested For Making Bomb Threat
Earl, 58, was arrested for making a bomb threat call at his government office around 8:30 a.m., according to Phoenix police.
Police were called after Department of Economic Security employees notified the building’s security, making employees panic.
After more than 100 employees were evacuated from the building, Earl stepped forward and made an announcement. He told authorities that calling in the bomb threat was a joke and didn’t think it would be taken seriously!
Earl Woods: Apologetic For Making Bomb Threat Call
Phoenix police said that Earl was booked on “suspicion of attempting to terrify, intimidate, threaten or harass others,” according to ABC News. Police say that Earl is apologetic about what he did and is fully cooperating with the investigation into his call. It is reportedly unclear if he has a lawyer or not.
Earl’s daughter, Cheyenne Woods, is a professional golfer, just like her Uncle Tiger. Earl and Tiger share the same father, Earl Woods Sr.
We’re glad that Earl is apologetic and is being cooperative with law enforcement, but the next time he plays a joke, it definitely shouldn’t involve bombs — especially in a government workplace.
