We asked you to vote for your favorite TV couples of 2013, and you answered loud and clear â" from ‘Vampire Diaries’ to ‘Castle’ to ‘Beauty & the Beast’ and more, the final five is a pretty solid group. However, one duo eclipses all the rest when it comes to onscreen chemistry, and that, my friends, is ‘Arrow”s Oliver and Felicity.
HollywoodLife.com‘s search for the hottest TV couple of 2013 is a close race, but it doesn’t have to be. Arrow scene-stealers Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) delivered the best onscreen chemistry of the year, and they haven’t even hooked up â" yet. Find out why “Ollicity” reigns supreme over Delena, Klaroline, and the rest below!
Oliver & Felicity: TV’s Smartest, Sexiest Non-Couple (FOR NOW)
Fine, fine. So they’re not officially dating â" yet. But Oliver and Felicity smolder every time they’re onscreen together, and their high-stakes, intense relationship is built on an ultimate, life-or-death trust and complete and total respect. Their attraction, unlike many couples on TV, is not purely physical â" in fact, neither of them really seemed to notice the other in a romantic capacity throughout all of Season 1. But as Oliver began to realize that he needed someone he could trust if he was going to run with the whole vigilante thing, he quickly figured out that Felicity was his girl. She’s brilliant, she’s awkward, she’s funny, she’s beautiful â" she’s basically an “everyman” (every-woman), just with a billionaire vigilante for a best friend and an infectious, geeky-cool vibe that lights up the screen. How could Oliver not swoon?
Err, well, he doesn’t. At least not openly. But it’s undeniable that some feelings are there, and the “will-they-or-won’t-they” chemistry from this couple â" especially in the midst of one of their death-defying missions â" is simply off the charts. For example, when Oliver slept with the witchy Isabel (Summer Glau) in Russia, Felicity was clearly hurt. Then Oliver was hurt because she was hurt, and it was just wonderful and awful at the same time. âIt didnât mean anythingâ¦.” he said, tripping over his words. “Because of the life that I lead, I just think that itâs better to not be with someone that I could really care about.â
The world disagrees with you, Oliver. And you’d better make up your mind fast â" Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has officially arrived, and as he said last week, he’d most definitely “be on time” if Felicity decided to give him a call. She just might, but even still â" it’s become pretty clear at this point that even though Oliver’s original “endgame” was Laurel (Katie Cassidy), the chemistry between our hero and the geeky girl next door is just too extreme to ignore. They’re like a damn Taylor Swift song, y’all.
But… They’re Not Even Dating!
That’s a good point. But at this point, neither are Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), who have already had their time in the sun and completely blown it. As for “Klaroline” (Candice Accola and Joseph Morgan), they aren’t even on the same show right now, and Caroline deserves better than a mass-murderer, no matter how alluring Klaus is. (And trust me, he is.) Also, Caroline and Klaus haven’t spent nearly enough quality time together â" you know, time when she isn’t wanting to kill him for trying to kill her boyfriend/best friend/etc. Their relationship â" as of now â" is based more on physical attraction (on his part) than trust, respect, and genuine friendship like Ollicity’s.
Then there’s Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) on Beauty & The Beast, who are undoubtedly sweet, but they lack the absolutely smoldering chemistry that Stephen and Emily deliver week after week after week. And I’m not going to pretend like I watch Castle, but haven’t Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) been together for like, five years now? And they’re still not married? Get with it, you two!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Is Ollicity the hottest duo on TV? Shout out your shipper thoughts in the comments, and be sure to vote in our official poll for your favorite!
