Luke Evans may have been out to promote ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ on Dec. 2, but the former ‘Fast Six’Â star only had Paul Walker in mind when he dedicated his performance in the film to his tragically deceased friend.
Paul Walker‘s Fast and the Furious co-stars have been trickling out their statements of overwhelming grief since the actor died in a fiery car crash on Nov. 30, and on Dec. 2 Luke Evans sweetly dedicated his performance in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug to his fallen friend. Read below for Luke’s sweet words on his Fast brother Paul.
Luke Evans Dedicates ‘Hobbit’ Performance To Paul Walker
Luke hit the red carpet at the Hobbit premiere in Hollywood to celebrate his performance in the iconic franchise, but he told E! that he was also there to remember Paul.
“Tonight my performance is dedicated to him,” Luke said. “He was just a really down to earth, cool guy. He was warm… just very kind.”
Sounds just like the sweet guy the rest of the Fast family is describing.
“You know, I was the new boy on the set,” Luke continued. “[Paul] didn’t have to have much to do with me, but he always took time to come over, give me a hug, have a chat. He was that kind of guy…Â He just gave off a really great energy. He surrounded himself with wonderful people. That says something about who you are. His friends and family were always surrounding him. They are the ones I send my love to this evening.”
Vin Diesel Calls Paul An ‘Angel Up In Heaven’
Luke’s kind words came mere hours after Vin Diesel‘s impromptu speech at Paul’s crash site, where the actor and longtime friend of Paul’s consoled fans with this statement:
âI just want to say to all of you, if my brother were here right now and he saw all of the love you are bringing here. If he could see for himself that all of you have shown up to show my brother love⦠At this hard time his family gets to see all of you show the love that youâve shown Paul. Itâs going to stay with me forever. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciate him.â
Our thoughts are with Paul’s family and friends in and out of the movies during this immensely difficult time.
