Paul Walker’s ‘Heart Was Desperate’ When He Wasn’t With His Daughter

The late actor’s daughter, Meadow, was a true light in his life. Just a few months before his horrific fatal car crash on Nov. 30, Paul shared how having his teenage daughter living with him full-time had finally given him a sense of home.

Paul Walker was the happiest he had ever been in his too-short life after his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Walker, moved into his home. Before his death, Paul revealed that his “heart was desperate” when he was away from Meadow during her early childhood — and was completely changed when he was able to spend all his time with her.

Not living in the same state as his only child while she was growing up was very rough on Paul. “My heart was desperate for so many years with the situation with my daughter,” Paul told Entertainment Weekly in March 2013 — just eight months before his death. ”She’s living in Hawaii and she’s there and I’m running here [in California]. My daughter lives with me full-time now and she’s the best partner I’ve ever had. It’s so nuts. I’ve never had anything like this in my life.”

Having his daughter finally with him finally gave Paul, 40, a sense of home. “I’ve been so transient, I’ve been on my own since I was 16,” Paul explained. “I didn’t even have my own place until I was 32 years old. I literally lived out of bags for 16-plus years.”

Paul Walker Getting ‘His Time’ With Daughter

“There’s a part of me who feels like I’m making up for lost time,” Paul previously told EW of his transition into full-on parenting mode.

Paul’s untimely death was especially tragic since it occurred when he was finally hitting his stride with his daughter. “He was finally getting his time with Meadow,” a source close to Paul’s family told HollywoodLife.com after Paul’s tragic passing. “He was happier than you can imagine to have her living with him full-time. She was the love of his life, he was an amazing dad and he was so happy that she chose to live with him because he never felt like he got enough time with her.”
