Paul Walker’s Porsche Called ‘Scary’ & ‘Notoriously Difficult To Handle’

After Paul tragically died in a fiery car crash on Nov. 30, his family, friends and fans were left in shock and wanting answers. Now it appears the super fast car Paul was riding in may have been to blame for the fatal accident.

Investigators are still trying to find out what caused the crash that took Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas‘ lives. Now many are speculating that the Porche Carrera GT they were taking for a test drive may have been too fast for them to handle, as even a top driver called it “scary.” Read on for all the details.

Paul Walker’s Porsche Dangerous? — Car Was ‘Scary’ & ‘Difficult To Handle’

After starring in the Fast & Furious franchise, Paul was no stranger to extreme speed. But the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, which sold for $ 450,000 when new, was more than just a fast car. According to Autoweek Magazine, the vehicle was “notoriously difficult to handle,” even for professional drivers. In fact, a top driver called it “scary,” the magazine reported on Dec. 1.

Paul Walker Car Crash Video Surfaces

Although many people may want to point fingers at Porsche for selling such a dangerous car, the company did make it a point to let buyers know just how risky their new ride was.

In 2004, right before the Porsche Carrera GT went on sale, the company released a memo with a warning about the car, saying it was the closest thing to a racecar they’d ever come out with, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

Paul Walker’s Death: Drag Racing Ruled Out

After authorities received a tip suggesting that drag racing played a role in Paul and Roger’s deaths, L.A. County Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Cohen told CNN on Dec. 2 that there was no proof to support the claim that there was a second car involved. The investigation is now focused on the speed of the car that slammed into a light pole and burst into flames.

The Sheriff’s Office says that speed was definitely a factor in the accident, though it has not yet been determined how fast the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that Roger was driving was going at the time of the crash. There was a 45 MPH speed limit sign on the light pole, but eyewitnesses have reported seeing the Porsche traveling at a high speed, with some estimating that it was traveling more than 100 MPH before Roger lost control.
