‘X Factor’ Recap: Jeff Gutt Gets Standing Ovation From Judges

The top 8 contestants on the ‘X Factor’ performed with a live band for the first time â€" and which contestant had the challenge of singing ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’? Keep reading for all the details!

The X Factor‘s final 8 contestants sang along with a big band on the Nov. 27 episode — and a special guest — making it feel like we were watching a live concert! Read on for HollywoodLife.com‘s take on the evening, including our favorite acts!

‘The X Factor’: Top 8 Perform With Live Band

Tonight’s show started on an exciting note, since Michael Buble made a guest appearance to show the contestants how singing with a big band is done! The singer performed “You Make Me Feel So Young,” and got the crowd going with his sultry, old-school style!

Rion Paige served up a large dose of sass with her rendition of “Swingin,” and Kelly Rowland said she had her “diva hat” on during the performance! Coming from a diva, that’s a total compliment!

Restless Road performed a song that had their name written all over it — “Life Is A Highway.” They killed the song, and were so happy that they got to sing a popular country hit and that really showed off their talents.

Jeff Gutt was tasked with singing the ultra-hard song, “Feeling Good.” He’s always been so-so as a performer to me, but he absolutely nailed his performance tonight — and even got a standing ovation from all of the judges! Demi Lovato said he did “amazing,” and Simon Cowell said it was his best performance yet!

Josh Levi, another favorite of mine, absolutely killed it when he sang an amazing rendition of “Treasure.” The performance was especially sweet because he dedicated it to his grandma — and even threw in adorable choreography! Paulina Rubio said that he makes performing look “effortless.”

Carlito Olivero brought the spice factor back with a Spanish version of “The Cup Of Life,” with 20 backup dancers behind him! It had everyone dancing in their seats.

Lovebirds Alex & Sierra did a great job with their rendition of “I Knew You Were Trouble,” which seemed a little daunting to perform with a live band. However, they sounded great and seemed to bounce back from their negative feedback last week!

Lillie McCloud knocked “Summertime” out of the ballpark, like I knew she would! This song was a natural choice for her to sing, and she dedicated it to her fiance.

Ellona Santiago sang “Mama Knows Best,” and Kelly said it was her best performance yet — and Demi said she could win the competition!

HollywoodLifers, which act(s) did you love most tonight â€" and which do you think deserve to be the next two voted off? Drop a comment with your thoughts on the season’s current standings.
