For the first time at a ‘Catching Fire’ premiere the actress didn’t don a gown — in fact, she didn’t wear a dress at all! Instead, she stepped out in a strapless ensemble. Did you like the look? Was it fashionable or quite frumpy? VOTE.
Elizabeth Banks really blew me away on the Catching Fire promotional tour in one stunning look after another — which is why I was a bit let down when I saw her on the red carpet at AMC Lincoln Center theatre in NYC on Nov. 20, where the 39-year-old star stepped out in a look that consisted of harem pants. What would Effie Trinket say?! It’s like these gals got to NYC and just couldn’t be bothered stepping up their style game! While I appreciate the fact that she tried something new, it just can’t even compare to the amazing looks she has worn in the past. She could have done SO much better.
Elizabeth Banks’ Pants At ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Premiere:
Sure, it’s very cold in NYC so the pants were a practical choice, but Elizabeth looks like she robbed this look right out of Princess Jasmine’s closet. I guess it’s obvious that I’m not a huge fan of harem pants, and I definitely don’t approve of them on the red carpet. Sure, there are stars that could try to make this look work, but it was such a bad choice for Elizabeth.
While she looked edgy and confident in the ensemble, I think it did nothing for her figure. Once I was able to get past the silhouette, I did appreciate the intricate detailing on the strapless bodice and the side of the pants. With her hair worn back, she kept the rest of the ensemble simple, pairing the get-up with a vibrant tangerine lip that added a pop of color to her outfit. Pointy black pumps and a black clutch finished off her red carpet look.
Maybe if she hadn’t looked SO amazing SO many times on the promotional tour I wouldn’t be so disappointed, but I can’t help it! All of her looks have been so phenomenal and I really hoped she would have dressed to impress one last time while in NYC.
