Harry Styles Writes Heartbroken One Direction Song â€" About Taylor Swift?

Taylor may be the queen of breakup songs, but it looks like she has some competition from her ex Harry! The One Direction hottie seems to be revealing his heartache over Taylor in the new song ‘Something Great,’ which he co-wrote for 1D’s album ‘Midnight Memories.’

Harry Styles knows that he inspired at least one diss song written by his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift – so it would make total sense for him to respond with a nasty breakup song of his own. Harry definitely seemed to have Taylor on the brain when he co-wrote “Something Great” with Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody – but surprisingly, the song doesn’t seem to have been written in revenge. Instead, Harry seems to be revealing that Taylor is “all he wants”! Read on for more details.

One Direction‘s latest album, Midnight Memories, has leaked, and track number twelve, titled “Something Great,” is a catchy love ballad co-written by Harry himself.

Harry, 19, seems to be taking a cue from Taylor, 23, by looking to his real-life love life for inspiration on the song, which is about a man who misses someone he had something very special with. Check out some of the lyrics:

Like how I pictured it
So I don’t have to keep imagining

Come on, jump out at me
Come on, bring everything
Is it too much to ask for something great?

The last few lines really pull on our heartstrings! It sounds like Harry is finally opening up about his feelings of regret over losing Taylor. We wonder if he’s still missing her even now.

Taylor Swift Reveals Why She Wrote Music About Harry Styles

The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer told New York magazine that she doesn’t write songs about random guys she goes on dates with — only guys she was crazy in love with!

“I only write songs about crazy love,” Taylor said. “If I go on two dates with a guy and we don’t click, I’m not writing a song about that. It didn’t matter in the emotional grand scheme of things. There’s a lot that goes on in daily life that isn’t really worth turning into a verse and a chorus.”

In the same interview, Taylor told us that the person she mainly based Red off of (sounds like Harry to us) called her album “bittersweet.”

“He was like, ‘I just listened to the album, and that was a really bittersweet experience for me. It was like going through a photo album.’ That was nice. It’s a lot more mature way of looking at a love that was wonderful until it was terrible, and both people got hurt from it â€" but one of those people happened to be a songwriter.”

Well, Taylor, it turns out Harry is a songwriter, too! Bring on the breakup songs!
