As the competition heats up on NBC’s The Voice, all eyes are on frontrunner Matthew Schuler. But the Pennsylvania native only has his eyes on one person — and it’s not someone you should expect to see sitting in the audience. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Matthew, 20, after the NBC competition series’ Nov. 11 installment, where he told us that his faith has propelled him to where he is today.
Here’s how he’s survived to the Top 10, in his own words:
It has been a wild ride. I have started to not look at everything so I can continue to be humble about everything. But my relationship with Jesus Christ has helped me out the most. I am not doing this for me I am doing this for the love of God and people. To share my passion of music is what keeps me being me. The weak will inherit the earth so I want to be humble and bless others.
Well, auditioning for The Voice was definitely a leap of faith — one that has paid off in spades for Matthew.

From his unforgettable cover of Miley Cyrus‘ “Wrecking Ball” to his most recent performance of “Beneath Your Beautiful,” Matthew is always a highlight of The Voice. A clear frontrunner from the start, Matthew has really shone bright during the live competition episodes, and he keeps getting better.
But does have what it takes to win The Voice for Team Christina? Only time will tell!
