One Direction knows a thing or two about facing rumors, and in a new interview the boys addressed claims that they’ve been on the verge of breaking up.
One Direction is so unstoppable right now, that the only thing their detractors could possibly do is drum up speculation about a band split. However, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik all took on the rumors in a new interview with Billboard, and it sounds like 1D is here to stay for quite awhile!
One Direction: Do They Have Plans To Break Up?
In the article the band’s mentor, Simon Cowell, does admit that “eventually they probably will split up and maybe want to have their own careers,” but the boys of 1D want to make something clear — that day is a long ways away.
“We just love what we’re doing right now,” Liam says. “We’ve got no intention to change that.”
Niall echoes Liam’s sentiment as well, adding, “I have my four best mates on the road with me to keep me from getting lonely. Wouldn’t give it up for anything.”
Actions do speak louder than words though, and as a show of dedication to One Direction, each of the five members recently renewed their record contracts for another three albums, according to Billboard. Their next album could come out as early as November 2014!
One Direction Isn’t Going Anywhere
So it sounds like One Direction is here to stay. “From what I hear, they’re really enjoying what they’re doing and and we don’t feel there’s anything seriously wrong here,” Simon also told the magazine.
You could say that again. With 1D taking over the world on Nov. 23 with 1D Day and then releasing their third album, Midnight Memories, days later, it’s safe to say One Direction is on top of the world. And it’s a relief to hear that they plan to stay there.
