The Monty Python Gang Reuniting For First Time in 30 Years

Always look on the bright side of life, because the Monty Python gang is reuniting for the first time in decades! The goofy quintet of British comedians, most famous for the film ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail,’ will come together for a new show nearly 45 years since their first appearance together as a group.

The Monty Python boys have been cult comedy icons for decades, and now the five remaining members of the group â€" John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Eric Idle â€" are taking the show back on the road, 30 years since their last group outing in The Meaning of Life.

Monty Python Reunion: A Long Time Coming

Python fans have been jonesing for a reunion for years, but the death of sixth founding member Graham Chapman – as well as the ages of the remaining five, and their busy schedules — have continued to throw a wrench in things. But now that all five boys are in their 70s, they decided that the big reunion is a “now or never” type of thing. Eric Idle, who penned the hit Python musical Spamalot, began teasing the big news Nov. 15 on Twitter:

Of course, the big questions on everybody’s mind is whether the gang will be doing new or old material, where and when they’ll perform, and if movies and TV shows might be part of the equation. We’re not quite sure yet, but Eric tweeted that more announcements will come during a press conference on Thursday, Nov. 21:
