Lady Gaga was definitely taking a risk when she participated in a ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch that totally dissed Kanye and his girl, Kim Kardashian, on Nov. 16. But a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she was willing to take that chance in order to get revenge for her fellow pop star friend.
Believe it or not, Lady Gaga has Taylor Swift‘s back, and apparently the “Applause” singer doesn’t forgive and forget either. So as the host of Saturday Night Live on Nov. 16, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Gaga was eager to take down one of Taylor’s enemies – Kanye West!

The skit entitled “Waking Up With Kimye” definitely didn’t pull any punches on Kanye and Kim Kardashian, ripping on Kanye’s ego and controlling manner as well as Kim’s airheaded tendencies. And apparently Gaga couldn’t have enjoyed the diss-heavy sketch any more!
“One of Lady Gaga’s favorite skits to do was the one making fun of Kanye and Kim,” a source close to the singer tells us. There’s a lot of simmering negativity between Gaga and Yeezy, the source points out, citing the debacle that went down when she and Kanye tried to tour together in 2009. So he’s not exactly in her good graces.
But most of all, Gaga wanted to stick up for a fellow leading lady — Taylor. “She hasn’t really forgiven him for that,” the source says, referring to Kanye and Taylor’s infamous VMAs moment in 2009. “So to make fun of him years later was therapeutic.”

No wonder the skit was so good. With Gaga playing an Apple employee at the Genius Bar (which Jay Pharaoh‘s Kanye did not appreciate because she did not earn the right to be called a genius), SNL really went after the couple with a lot of so-true-it’s-funny humor.
And Gaga even managed to poke fun at herself too when she winked at the camera after telling Kanye and Kim, “I don’t care about fashion. I think people who try too hard with their outfits are maybe hiding something.”
Genius! (Whoops, sorry Kanye.)
