Lamar is reportedly trying to do damage control after a video surfaced on Nov. 22 in which he looks heavily under the influence and raps about drugs, money, and possibly infidelity. However, his explanation may be too little too late — especially because a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that he still hasn’t said sorry to Khloe.
Things were looking up for Lamar Odom, until a video came out on Nov. 22 that suggested he had fallen off the wagon. A day later, the former basketball player (and it may stay that way) is taking responsibility for the disconcerting footage and reportedly insisting the video isn’t as bad as it looks. So why won’t he tell that to Khloe Kardashian?
Lamar Odom Explains Creepy Video
Lamar has reportedly seen the video, and is admitting that yes, he was under the influence when it was filmed, according to TMZ. But a source tells the website that Lamar is adamant that he was just very drunk — not high on any kind of drug.
The concerning video of he and his friend, Jamie Sangouthai, rapping and slurring their words in an LA bathroom was reportedly made last week. Lamar is allegedly assuring friends that it was the last time he drank, and that he’s rededicated himself to staying clean and preparing for his return to the NBA by traveling to the University of Rhode Island to train.
Lamar Odom Won’t Apologize To Khloe Kardashian
But the harsh reality is the video may have done Lamar in for good. First of all, the relapse — even if it was just a one-time thing — struck serious doubt into the minds of the Los Angeles Clippers, a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “The video goes against everything he told [coach] Doc Rivers and the Clippers of how he was improving,” the source affirmed. “He may have ruined his chance of signing with the team.”
And even more importantly, he may have ruined his chance of reuniting with Khloe, who thought the video was a “slap in the face,” another source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
It doesn’t help that Lamar is putting off an apology. “He knows there’s nothing he could say that would make her feel better,” the source said. “She’s out promoting her business anyway and he thinks the best thing for him to do is just not mention it. He doesn’t want to ruin her day.”
Take it from us, Lamar: any sort of apology is better than not apologizing at all.
